They are going to make using a computer as enjoyable as a trip to the airport. This is bad mistake, and so unnecessary.

When people use a new Vista-ready computer, even if they run a free OS, it always going to be in the back of their minds that it has been deliberately designed to assume they're a copyright criminal. Maybe it is not the best analogy, since the stakes are different, but running a vista-ready computer is just like being at the airport, everyone knows that most people are not major violators of copyrights, yet everyone, including the innocent, are affected by intrusive security. And just like at the airport, people will either laugh ruefully when they're subjected to utterly pointless procedures and inconveniences: No, you can't bring your duty free liquor which has never left a secure area onto your connecting flight. No, you can't run see your blue-ray movie in high def while you have an unsigned device attached to your computer). Or people will just give up, and not use a computer (or fly) unless they absolutely have to.

And it is always in the back of their minds that they're being watched. That they're the enemy. That they are not trusted.

It is not only anti-democratic, it is just sick.
